Operated by the husband and wife team of Tim and Karen Stevens, you can be sure of a personal and professional service, whatever your diving needs. Tim has some 30 years experience in the diving industry both as a working commercial diver and supervisor, and as one of the most experienced recreational and technical diver, Instructor Trainers and Examiners in the UK.
Beer Divers are a Scuba Schools International (SSI) approved diver and instructor training facility. Tim is the longest serving SSI instructor trainer in the UK and together with David Restall another SSI instructor trainer, and the rest of the highly experienced staff, make Beer Divers a unique facility to undertake your diver training from.
Scuba Schools International is the largest facility based, diving certification agency in the world. Unlike other large diving agencies with independent instructors working where and how they like and with little control or supervision, SSI instructors can only work within the confines of an approved diving school, which is inspected on a regular basis by SSI HQ, and can be inspected by the UK Health and Safety Executive at any time without warning. As a result SSI facilities are required to maintain the highest possible standards at all times and are required to comply fully with the provisions of the Diving Operations at Work Regulations 1997.
Scuba Schools International pioneered the home study educational system, many years before any of the other diving agencies tried to. The result is that the SSI educational system is truly exceptional with excellent student materials, and for those who wish to use it, a fully interactive internet based training system. However this does not mean that classroom training is dead. All SSI instructors are examined on their classroom teaching techniques, and are fully capable of providing formal classroom based instruction if required to do so.

Support services for recreational divers include, Air, Nitrox and Mixed gas fills are available to 300 bar, Equipment service and repairs carried out in a well equipped workshop, Wet and Dry suit repairs, Equipment sales and cylinder testing,
Diving trips are undertaken on our 5.5 Metre Avon Searider RIB, and we can arrange hard boat charters with very experienced skippers, for deep water wreck diving if required.
